Ok what I do is build a four by eight wood frame out of two by twelve's then line it with heavy black construction poly. I put the poly on the upper edge of the frame and rip two by four's down to a half inch strips then fold the poly one time around the wood strip before nailing down. Works great. We use to build the kids skating ponds like this when they where young.

Nice, then you can make it to whatever dimensions you want as long as the poly is big enough.
