chick starter vs "all purpose"

We came home from the feed store with some "chick starter" and some "all purpose" chicken feed. They look the same to me....


Until what age should they eat "chick starter" and what should they eat after that? (in their feeder, I'm hoping they eat lots of bugs! YUMMY

I have never heard of all purpose chicken feed, but it sounds like it is layer mash. What does the bag say it is for? If it is for laying hens, don't give it to your chicks. It has too much calcium, which is not good for them.

Keep them on a starter or grower until point of lay, which is around 20 weeks.
