My good friends were standing at the coop door looking at my flock with me the other night, and the comment was made, "Wow. This is pretty much chicken overload, doncha think?"

We'd only just returnrd from a chicken catching expedition to try to get the rest of my flock up to my new property, and had only been able to catch six more. So we were a tad whipped from that exercise, and were watching those six birds maneuver amongst their old flock-mates who hadn't seen 'em in nine days. So they were being put through the pecking order paces again.

Lots of scurrying, squawking, ruckus in the coop.

"Chicken overload?"

Huh!

And Kristy?! Don't you remember your chicken math? You only have 45 chickens, remember??

More land = more birds. Im sorta maxed on 1/3 acres

apparently the numbers sneak up on you when the hen's grazing area is five acres and they spend their days running around the horses and eating flies. It does not seem like that many when they'e scattered

True... I've only got 1,800sq. metres of land. Sooo it seems then 20+ is excessive? Thinking of converting the HOUSE to a giant chickens shed..
