chicken attacked, has open wound under wing

This is a great step by step to treating wounds. Thank you. I have printed it out to keep on hand. My young silkie hen was attacked by a hawk today. She has a hole under her wing, but it appears that no organs were involved and there is no blood. I will follow the info here and see if I can save her.

Came home today , was taking care of all the feathered babies I come into one coop and find one of my hens in a corner , I picked her up I notice the she had a open wound about 4 inches long under her left wing , I am thinking the rooster did it cause she is one of the favorites , well I have her isolated in the chicken ER , she is eating and drinking water she is walking like normal , but the wound is open to where I can see her meat ! my question to you guys is what can I do for her can I stich her up ? and do I have to give antibiotics if so what can I get ? I did give her Poly-vi-sol in her water.... TIA

Try using some Blue Kote spray. It is great! helps with the healing and keeps the chickens from attacking that area till its healed up. Hope this helps! Most feed stores have it
