Chicken eggs dissappear and cickens don't want to go into coop

Yeah, motion light doesn't do much...but give them more light...lol.
Any chance you have a game camera to set up?

3" x 5" is more likely a rat than a coon...or something smaller than a coon.

hmmm to spook the hens out of not going in thinking maybe weasle/ferret/mink and they could go after the chickens, sorry just guessing as no clue where you are at or what other predators you may have. Maybe try live traps where they are going in or just inside. I had a neighbors ferret get out and take out my whole flock a few years back just for sport.

I used to have a predators list, but I can't find that anymore. Does anyone know where there is a complete list? I'm in Wisconsin.. you name it, we got it....We definitely have weasels, skunks, raccoons, fisher kings and rats..lol. I think it's bigger than a rat. I used to have a pet rat and all but one hole are definitely bigger than that and even the small hole.. it's by the gate, so it could've just squeezed through cause the gate moves. I would say it can be 5 inches in diameter.

Doesn't really matter what it is...you need to stop it.

I'd add some anti digging mesh, pavers or concrete under the gate.
1/2" hardware cloth, well attached, on any opening in the coop that's not locked at night.
Set a live trap and a game cam if you have access to one.
