I need help deciding what to feed my hens and roosters and how often do they get food I'm wanting to feed them something that will make their feathers shine and also give them layer pellets or some for of layer food my chickens are just starting to lay now their about 8 months old any help will be greatly appreciated

Since you have a mixed flock of hens and roosters, you should stick with an all flock or flock raiser feed so your roo doesn't intake excess calcium, which can injury his kidneys. With oyster shell on the side your hens will have nice hard eggs. As for feathering, the extra protein in the all flock feed will help with this. I keep feed out all the time.
