Chicken Run Composting - What about grass?

My chickens have been making compost for me for years. I toss in leaves, weeds that haven't gone to seed, spent garden plants, kitchen scraps, grass clippings, etc. I have a couple of garden beds that got away from me last year and I'm just now re-storing order. I don't know what to do with grass that has gone to seed - I'm pulling it up with as much of the root structure as I can. Will the chickens effectively kill the roots and eat the seeds? Or am I just going to be spreading grass to new beds with the compost?

Thanks for any advice.

The above is exactly right any seeds they don't eat will sprout and get eaten, assuming you let the compost system go a while before you use the compost.

The one exception I find is tomato seeds, which I get volunteers of all over the place. :D
