And you need to answer the question about how cold it's been. We know you're in California, but the state has a wide variety of climate. @Justagalwithchicks was wanting to know this and so do I. We suspect this could be a symptom of hypothermia.

sorry for not replying, Goldie (the sick chicken) died during the night.

if u still want to figure our what happened: The temperature here reach 50 degrees at lowest, and she hasnt laid an egg for around half a year. she also hasnt tried to lay an egg at all. I tried to look for an egg but it felt empty.
nothing out of the ordinary in her crop, it was also empty.
