Just thought I would share these pictures as a great example of what chickens do to plants . . . I set up temporary fencing to let my chickens prepare a vegetable bed in the long-disused driveway. These were taken 15 days apart. I only have 4 chickens and they have at least this much room again in their run, plus plenty of good feed and food scraps. I pulled a few big clumps and obviously hauled off the scrap wood/junk that was hiding under the weeds, but this lawn-mowing is all chicken work. And during this time they laid about 50 eggs. Best free yard workers ever! But the little brats do go for the roses before they bother with grass stems once the leaves are gone!
