Chicken with his eye pecked out?

I am a science teacher and the chicken lady at my school. I got a scary picture of a bloody chicken eye. I told the child to separate it from their flock and next thing I know I have Hoppers in my classroom. So...I am trying to heal Hoppers because he is someones pet. I do not want to spend a lot of money on medicine. I was able to ice it today because it was VERY swollen. He is eating. He is getting around fine. He is precious and hanging out on my couch right now. BUT...where do I go from here? I do not want to go buy anything. Can I just clean it with peroxide and keep and eye on him? It is seeping a little bit right now,but it is not warm at all. Please let me know if you have any advice that is not equal to the death of the bird. Thanks in advance!

I don't know about treating it but I know a bird named 'Iris' because this does happen.

Mr. Hoppers died. He must have gone septic. He was such a sweet little guy!
