Chickenboy and his Mom from Michigan

Hi and thank you to everyone on the forum,

My son Chickenboy is 11 - I'm the mom helping him with his chicken addiction. I know that I have caught the chicken bug too! We started out a year ago with Coturnix quail - this was to be his sister's project. Chickenboy got hooked - & showed a quail in showmanship at the 4-H fair. We then said he could have chickens this spring - well we ended up with chicks last fall instead. He took in a hen that turned out to be a rooster from someone that lived in the city.

We incubated some quail eggs last fall. Chickenboy likes the bantams - seem large compared to quail! Moving up with the size or our eggs.

Currently have
28 Coturnix quail - 20 hens, Texas A & M, Manchurian, brown, & tuxedo
1 buff brahma bantam hen
1 buff braham bantam rooster
1 white crested black polish hen
1 white crested black polish rooster
1 black cochin bantam rooster
1 red pyle old english gamebird bantam hen

Chicks
3 Serama/Sebrights
2 BB reds old english gamebirds

2 silver Sebrights
2 gold Sebrights
2 light Brahma Bantams
2 buff? Brahma Bantams


We have been reading your forum for months. I ordered Chickenboy some of your BYC t-shirts and bumper stickers and magnets for Easter.
