chick's eye oozing...help

I checked my day old newly hatched chicks yesterday and found one with an eye oozing and nearly glued shut. The other eye was oozing some too, but seems better today. I am not sure if maybe one of the other chicks pecked it. I an not sure how to treat it. I put it back into the warm bator to keep it from the others. What else should I do?

Until a senior or experienced person chimes in, I would get a warm damp towel and make a compress on its' eye, to clear some gunk away.

thats exactly right, just keep using a warm cloth to clear it up. I had one that took about 2 weeks of this before it cleared up then she was fine.

What could be causing this. When I checked it this morning the eyes are open, but watery. One eye is worse than others and looks a little smaller. Do you think one of the others pecked it, or something else? Should I continue to keep it seperate from the others?

it could be an infection or she could have gotten some dust or something in her eyes
