Chicks Hatching

my first batch of chicks is hatching 2 days early right now... quick question... should I keep them in the incubator until the finish breaking free or move them out of the incubator?? my incubator has an auto-turner, I just dont want anyone getting hurt

Can you turn off or unplug the turner? What kind of incubator are you using?

Leave them in there till they are dry, they will stumble around but will be ok.

okie dokie, since the excitement has died down... here's how the night went
the one that hatched out in the picture made it, there was another that had externally piped while I was sleeping, but it was dead when I woke up, appeared to be shrink wrapped....

this morning another early bird made their escape...

current chick count
2 hatched
1 dead
17 eggs still waiting, due 6/19


oh and the incubator is one a friend let me borrow, it's a hova-bator 2362E

Bummer the one didn't make it, but great that you have two so far, fingers crossed you get more hatched!
