I haven't had your combination, but we did have a red sex link hide a nest from us last year. By the time we found her, she was a week into setting, so we let her keep going. Her nest had about 15 pretty brown eggs, and one green egg that one of our EEs had contributed. This is what hatched and grew out of the green egg (pretty obvious that her daddy was our Barred Rock roo). She's been one of my favorites since she hatched out with her cute puffy cheeks.
BTW, this flowerbed used to have a lot more daylilies in it, but the hens like to use it as a place to rest in the shade to get out of the hot TX sun...and it's tough to blame them.

also totally off subject but where in TX?? I grew up just north of Dallas! I’m in Kansas now but miss Texas everyday!!
Northwest of Fort Worth a bit. I might prefer Kansas in August, lol, after the 10th day of 100+ degrees in a row in TX.
What color eggs did the pullets end up laying?
I know this is old, but what color eggs did they end up laying? I currently have an EE roo with my reds and queens hoping for some olive eggers from them
