Coconut oil for scaly leg mites?

I believe a few of my hens have scaly leg mites. Can I treat them with coconut oil?

I find the best oil for SLM is castor oil. Better than Vaseline, which is a close second. No, coconut oil is too thin to work well. The objective is to smother the mites.

But the primo mite treatment, "one and done", is Elector PSP. If you can afford it. It's pricey. But it knocks out the mites in one ten minute soak.
