colored chicken poop?

ok, so the girls have been getting overripe tomatoes and strawberries from the garden this summer and they love them. today while scraping their poop board, i noticed a pinkish color in their poop - not blood - but an all-over pinkish tinge.

is this possibly from all the tomatoes and strawberries? they do get other treats too - cantaloupe rinds, carrot tops, cabbage tether ball, bell peppers, lawn clippings, scratch.

anyone else have this happen or is it even possible?

It can happen, and does.

I think if you feed purple cabbage you get neon blue poop.

The first time I gave mine beets, the poop color the next day was almost magenta. Freaked me out, till I remembered what they'd eaten.

That's why I avoid Mexican food. It burns you twice.

The first time I gave the chickens blueberries resulted in deep purple poo...definitely has to do with the strawberries, I'd say.
