Anyone like to share what %protein they feed their birds, how much and what method? I have always fed around 16% around the clock in past years with no issues. I actually tried hatchery recommendation of 23% to four weeks and 20% afterwards but am being told this is too high and defenitely not around the clock.

Everyone varies a bit on what % and how long to feed them. If you go with the higher % protein do a feeding schedule such as 12 on 12 off, this will decrease the chance of them dying to soon with problems. The standard rule of thumbs seems to be do what works for you.

We had 2 cornish roasters along with our other chicks and had them together for about 2 weeks feeding them the same as the rest. Then after that we put the 2 cornish roasters in a dog crate for the rest of their stay with us and we fed them 12 on and 12 off so that they wouldn't over eat.

We feed ours 20% for the entire time. We get our cornish x's from Welp, and they recommend from day 5 on (yes, even baby chicks!) to take the feed out for 12 hours. They say 7p-7a, but we do more like 8 or 9p to 7a. We've always had good (read: tasty!) results!
