Could my chickens forage in a garden with potato plants without eating them?

We have a garden with different veggies and I was thinking of letting the chickens forage in their so they could give it something to grow on and something to give the veggies more foods.
The only problem is that there is a lot of potato plants in their and I’m worried they would eat them, mostly I’m worried that my dumb chicken would try and eat them(she has a brain injury)

What would happen if the chickens took a nipple on the potato plants?

Would you let your chickens forage around potato plants?

Fresh chicken poop on veggie plans is not a good idea.
It needs to be composted before using for fertilizer.
Plus the chickens are likely to tear up the plants.

Thank you for the answer, most of the plants are still in the ground sprouting, but your probably right about that they will tear the garden apart
