Should I worry about how this might affect my girls?

Sorry if this is the wrong section, but just noticed in one of the news outlets that the county is spraying salt marshes by helicopter tomorrow (Vectobac 12AS (Bti) and Altosid liquid (methoprene)). Like, at most 1/2 mile away, probably closer because I don't know the names of landmarks on the other side of the river.

States that humans need not take any precautions, but should I worry about the hens? They really never get within 20 ft of actual marsh, so I would *think* it wouldn't be an issue. The helicopter seems to go awfully low when doing this, so I would assume not much drift outside of the marsh?

Lived on LI for many years and had to take precautions during "spraying season". Yes, the helicopters fly low and yes, the pesticides that they are spraying travel far and wide. Keep them inside.

Thanks! That's what I was thinking. Especially since the helicopter's route seems to take it directly over my house as it starts to descend to spray is the "undeveloped" marsh area.

(Our property is labelled underdeveloped.)
