My girlfriends hen, (Barred Rock, 4+ years, laying, otherwise healthy, no avian vets in the area, quarantined from other hens to prevent picking), has a lesion in the joint at the base of one toe. It appears to have cracked and then sera came from the wound and became crusty. She is slightly lame on this foot, but otherwise healthy. The foot has been cleansed and triple antibiotic administered but the wound does not seem to be healing. Can anyone diagnose and offer any further suggestions? Thanks for your advice in advance.

There is an avian vet in Weare NH but I don't know how close you are to that area. Sounds like she is doing the right thing. Can you post a picture?
