Cream Legbar Pictures

Pics
They are just a year old.
That is good information thanks! Also it is a great endorsement for the breed.

Did you track when they began laying? Most Cream Legbars in my experience lay at around 24-weeks.

Their first pullet year they go gang busters.... Some take time off during the molt -which usually happens around 18-months old...then they begin again. I have one that just turned 3 - and before she started her molt - she was amazing me by still producing a daily egg. She has just now started up again. I wonder how long she can continue to be a good layer. Then I have another one - that was once-upon-a-time a stellar layer -- but she started molting last July and still hasn't begun her laying again. She is a slacker IMO.

Over winter, I generally expect them to rest a bit--- I don't use artificial light for their coops.

No, I didn't track the flock I have now because they were already laying when i got them..they were supposed to be around 8 months old though...when their chicks start laying i will be sure to see when they start..I am really impressed that they have been laying the whole winter...I have Gold Laced Brahmas & they haven't laid a single egg yet! I'm not sure why. They just turned 9 months old though & maybe it because it's still winter?? Hoping they will start soon though.. I have a list of people wanting pullets...

This is my son and his 2 birthday presents. Clb girls that hatched yesterday.

That is what he asked for, 2 cream legbars, 2 Cuckoo Marans and 2 speckled Sussex.
He likes his mixed flock of birds and collecting colorful baskets of eggs

He is very excited that in 2 weeks he is getting 2 more cream legbar female chicks and 1 male. He plans to build the five their own coop and run to breed them. And we have an older wyndotte that is happiest brooding eggs so she can be "mother" to his Cream Legbar eggs.

He researched them and bought from three different breeders that have different breed lines. Not going to argue with an almost 11 year old that just wants chickens for his birthday!

First Rees pullet egg

This pair below will be part of a single mating this Spring, I may only hatch from this pair to see if I can improve my flock.
My best hen, she is roughly 18months old and has almost completed her molt. She went from warm taupe feathers to cool gray feathers.

My Best Male (yes he has frostbite

) He is roughly 11months old
