Cuckoo maran rooster?

Was told this is a cuckoo roosters. I've tried to look up cuckoo rooster and only found 1 with this coloring other are with no gold on the feathers.

He's a Black Sex Link rooster.

The gold color indicated mixed heritage. He may indeed be part Marans but he had a parent of some red/gold breed also.
