Every video I've seen and article I've read on these feeders has used pellets, so I wasn't sure it would be great with crumble. I can only get the food I use in crumble form, which is why I haven't made any of these for myself yet.

I would think crumble would come out easier so long as it stays nice and dry. Pellet, being bigger might hang up a bit.

Or just possibly, the action/movement of the eyebolt might just break up the pellets a bit as they drop thru the hole?

If you watch the pellets coming out, they're intact. My concern with crumble was that it might come out too readily, since it's smaller bits.
