Daughter found abandoned goose egg in water by pond!! ❤️

Here are the pictures from the day. You can see the crack in the picture, but no leaking liquids. The egg is forming and holding up great!!

Hello everyone! Here are the pictures from today. What do y’all think about the crack? Do I need to put beeswax over it or just leave it? I wanted to thank you all for your support too. I posted to this duck FB group and people just exploded on me and said the most negative and hurtful things. I immediately left the group. Someone told me our egg was dead when it’s obvious that it’s not. Anyways, I’m so grateful that I’m a part of this group. Y’all are wonderful!!

The duckling died at day 14. I’m afraid that me changing the light bulb from a 60w to a 25w caused it to die or maybe the crack allowed for bacteria to get to it but we were so sad. I thought the 60w might be too hot so I got worried and changed it. It’s so hard to find any incandescent bulbs too ):
If we decide to incubate in the future what type of bulb should we use?
