Hi, our oldest female (girlfriend) was almost three years old. We have a flock of 13 ranging in age from 6 weeks to three years. Girlfriend is the mother and Big Daddy the father. They all live happily in a very large coop. We let them out several times a day into the yard while we sit down there. This is all they know. They used to free range, but the hawks killed them off until it was only the male and female left. We have hatched 11 with the help of an incubator. They go back into coop on their own, and get dried mealworms as a reward. Anyway, girlfriend seemed fine and then yesterday when they all came out she just laid in the grass which was unusual. She tried to get up and fell over. My husband carried her to the coop and put her in the top nesting area. Later in the day when he went to let them out again she was with the flock and acted normal. This morning she seemed fine and went out with flock. This afternoon they went out again, she seemed fine then started making a weird noise and fell over. My husband again put her into the nesting area. When we checked her about five minutes later she was completely limp. She had died. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jann
