I have a rescue chicken who's got no top beak, and the other one is overgrown and crooked. She hates being held down, hates her head being touched, and the combo makes it worse. Is there any suggestions to make it easier, how much I should try to correct her beak. Thanks I know this is a strange situation

It's easier if you've got another person to help hold her still while you trim the beak. I have to trim my handi-capped chicken's beak, she is blind. I have one person hold her under their armpit. Then I use my left hand to hold the chicken's head still while I trim the beak with toe-nail clippers. I don't do too much, when you look closely you'll see a slightly transparent part of the beak, trim that down. It's almost like trimming a dog's nails, clip the white part but don't get close to the "pink".

No, the chicken won't like it. But it's for her own good. ;)
