Did my first chickens today!!

Yay!!

I did my first chickens today!! The first one was slow, but the rest went fairly quick. Still have some more to do after they get a little heavier and I'm already thinking of better ways to do it! I even sent my husband a picture at work of my first one!!

I sure hope they taste good!! I'm brining now and will cook one in a couple days and freeze the rest whole. Anyone have any tips on the best way to prep for the freezer?? i.e. sucky vac, bags, wrap, etc.

Food saver is what I use....

The reason I'm responding to you is because of that positive attitude you have for being your first one...I always say...Mind over matter...

I never....ever thought I could raise my own meat...

However.... I just treated them with respect... fed them well...and made it as smooth as possible for both of us...When we ate that incredible meat the first time... I knew if I was going to continue to consume chicken...that was the best way...

Congrats on your first time...and that it was a positive one....
