Died suddenly

My 2 year old jersey giant died suddenly yesterday i dont know why i switched there feed recently but that is the only change she seemed fine in the morning and even laid an egg. This was around 8am i came back at 3pm and she was lying on the floor of the run all ready stiff there was no blood no swelling there was a broken up egg shell that still had the white attached the other chickens left her alone it was so shocking

If there were no visible symptoms it could have been a heart attack. It happens often in chickens. Sometimes they just die suddenly.

Sorry for your loss. Sometimes I do necropsies at home on chickens I lose. The organs can sometimes give you some answers. You are welcome to post pictures here. I can post a video of a necropsy with the organs labeled if you need it. Your state vet is the best bet for getting a diagnosis, if you keep the body cold, but not frozen, and take or ship it to them Monday morning. Here is a list of state vets:
