Discomfort with molting?

My oldest hen, Parsley (1.9 yrs), is going through her first major molt now.
She is also battling possible EYP and will be finishing up her Baytril antibiotics tomorrow. She dust bathes but just today, when she shook off the dirt and her larger feathers flew she jumped and squawked. She seemed kind of afraid after that and hid for about 10 minutes but she was normal afterwards.

She grooms herself and of course the smaller feathers just drop off but does it hurt when the larger feathers are shaken or pulled off? I don't want to get paranoid that she may now be dealing with another disease/ailment.

TIA,

It sounds like the larger feathers flying around may have startled her. The new feather growth is tender when it comes in, but the old feathers as they fall out no longer have a blood supply, so it's essentially like old hair falling out of your head.
