I've been researching building my own incubator for the last several months. I have a small mini fridge...
700

The main fridge part is slightly over 1 cu ft. I was planning on robbing parts from my Hovabator, but I have decided to keep it as a spare. I almost ordered a larger heat element from Incubator Warehouse, but saw their Flex Watt and started researching using that instead. I haven't been able to find much. I know some people are using it, but I need more details. I was planning on using 3' of the 11" Flex Watt and wrapping it around the sides/back of the bator. I have an STC1000 that I plan on using and several large adjustable-speed computer fans. I will be incubating only (I'm also going to convert the small top freezer into a 'hatcher').

I am mainly going to be using this for quail...

So, who is using Flex Watt?
1) if you had it to do over again, would you still use the Flex Watt?
2) how much Flex Watt are you using/how much incubator space?
3) did you need a supplemental heat source?
4) problems: Flex Watt running too hot, melting, quit working, etc.?

Any input is appreciated! Thanks in advance...

I know this is old, but I was wondering how your Flex Watt turned out? I'm in the process of planning my build and weighing the pros and cons of different heat sources.
