I haven't introduced Guinea to my chicken flock yet, I rescued it from being tormented by a dog. Its in a 10x10 coop next to regular coop so they can see each other. I hope it will get along with everyone. I think its a year old, no clue if its girl or boy. Does it really take 6 to 8 weeks to let guinea know this is its new home before I let it free range?
They'll mate but probably 9 times out of 10 it leads to nothing. Every so often someone gets a hybrid of the 2 but there are many people who have run chickens and guineas together for years and never seen any offspring from it.
Some of my roosters have mated with my guineas, i have a white keet that just hatched and i am pretty sure my white rock roo is the daddy, i am waiting till it gets a bit bigger to make sure.
Some roosters will try to mate with anything, i had one that would try to mate with my lab,a flip flop, the dogs bed,and even the red coffee can i used for scooping up scratch.
I have a guinea that showed up one day and has never left. I have several roosters that run free out side my pin and their is only one that the guinea will not chase. Not sure if the guinea is a male or female but my big white rooster seems to think it is a female
