Hey guys, first post here. I have a mallard and a pekin. They both turned 12 weeks on Tuesday of this week. I was doing some reading. And apparently it's bad to not have a mate for my ducks?!

I have no idea where you read that but no, you don't need males and females. Unless you are wanting fertile eggs males are not worth it to me. They cause more stress and work.

Oh my gosh guys, thank you so much! I was freaking out. My ducks are super happy, and love playing with each other and they sleep next to each other and preen each other, they are best buds. So I was so confused when I read that this morning, because I thought not having a partner would make them unhappy, but they are happy! That may have been a more farm oriented website where someone wants to get ducks for ducklings. Who knows. Thank you so much!

And play together all day and sleep together. Etc. I may have been reading on a more farm oriented site, not sure. Anyways. Thanks!
