My girls have free range access to a run we built in our rose garden. It has roses (well what's left of the roses), redwood bark and dirt and lots and lots of wild birds. I'm getting more than I ever did from my bird feeder.
My question - I know wild birds can carry mites and lice and I'm worried about my girls getting them. I have never had a problem before. Should I just watch carefully to see if they get them or should I be proactive and see if I can find some DE to sprinkle around the rose garden? Anything else I should be aware of with the wild birds being close to my girls?
