Does anything else produce a bloody stool?

I had a chick pass today that I was treating for Cocci but upon further examination, I think something else was wrong with it. It was very under weight compared to the others so this wasn't a sudden onset of coccidiosis... it was something else. Should I send it to the vet for autopsy? Do I refrigerate it for the night if I do? Or... Is there any other disease or illness that also produces the runny bloody poo??

How old was the chicken? Wrap the body in a garbage bag, and refrigerate it, but don't freeze it. You can contact your state vet here: http://www.usaha.org/Portals/6/StateAnimalHealthOfficials.pdf
Coccidiosis is common in chickens from 3 weeks to 20 weeks, but can happen later if there are immunity problems. Enteritis can cause blood as well, and can occur in chicks who have have coccidia in the past. Capillary worms can also cause blood in the stools. Your vet can look at stool samples for capillary worms or coccidia. Sorry for your loss.
