Does Pennys in a Bag of Water really work???

I am still having my fly problem...I have fly sticky things everywhere..Not really working..Someone told me to hang bags with water and pennies in it..Has anyone else tryed this?

my mom hangs a sandwitch bag of water inside of the front door and never has flys in her house

we use a water and bait system here at the sanctuary. the bait really stinks so hang it somewhere downwind. flies are drawn to it from all over our property and the jar has to be emptied about once a week and restunk but it works really well if you have a strong stomach when filling or emptying it. bug zappers were useless on flies here. it can kill hundreds of flies and poses no risk to ducks. pennies on the other hand can kill them if they eat them.
