Does this look like Scaley leg mites?

Hi all,
2.5 yr Ameraucana Roo. Compared to my hens, his scales look rough. Is it SLM or just rooster scales? He doesn't show any symptoms or limping, he dances well for his ladies, but doesn't often outrun them when giving chase.

Thanks, the pics I see are often severe cases, so I'd like some experienced opinions before I jump to plucking my roo out of the coop to treat. He gets cranky when the peace is disturbed after lights out

I think you just treat by rubbing Vaseline into the legs and feet you could do that right on the roost

I can give it a try - He always sleeps squatted, covering his legs and feet, but I presume he'll stand when I try.

Could be the beginning of them.
It won't hurt to work some Vaseline, Castor Oil or Nu Stock cream up under the scales of the legs/feet, a couple of times a week for a few weeks.

I just went looking for any older pics that show his legs. These below are from July and I can see a difference between then and now. I'll start up the treatment tomorrow, and try and get a good look at all the hens legs too.
