I have 2 buffs and a Easter egger, they are almost 6 wks. I know out if the 3 chicks 2 are female I'm hoping the 3rd is just an early bloomer with the comb since they were all supposed to be female and I cannot have a rooster where I live. The buff female has really curly feathers and the suspected rooster has feathered out really good. What do y'all think..my #3 is the most bossy.

In the first two the oldest one is on the left sunbathing :) the last one the oldest is on the right.

Ok, they're not screaming into cockerel yet, but I could see the older one being male. Definitely nothing certain yet because of the age - please post pics in a few weeks to confirm. :)

#1 is a cockerel. The other two are pullets.

  • Don't know the breed or gender of your chicks? Post here! I can help!
  • Can you please tell me what my rooster is. We have had him for a year and half, got him when he was almost full grown from some one who said they got a bunch of chickens out of a barn and he didn't know what he was. His name is Thor, is he Ameraucana? Or a mix. I just hatched some chicks and they came out different colors. Thank you.

Will do! The older one is acting like my EE roosters did when they were growing up challenging the others and being bossy.

What type of comb does he have? Probably an EE or EE X. Looks a lot like one of my boys!

Beautiful birds, with tail feathers of number 3 and its body shape, roosters are more triangular and tall, and the feathers look more messy plus they seem to grow faster, it looks like a rooster. I just went through the same thing with my batch of chicks ended up with 2 roosters. Hope this helps.
