Hi. First time on here . Wish I had more time to research, but....
I had 4 Pekin ducks, 2 male, 2 female. One of the females kept hiding a nest around the yard. So I decided to mark some eggs and let nature take its course. So she has kind of been sitting on 14 eggs. Any way she got hit by a car yesterday and died. I have no idea what to do now. Brought them in. Other female won't sit on them. Her mate is wondering around the yard looking for her. It's all so sad. I don't know how well she was taking care of her eggs. We had some hard cold rain for a few days and I noticed she wasn't sitting on them through out the storms. Is it ok if they got cold? Should I even try to incubate? Or throw my hands in the air and go get some hatched babies? Has anyone had to deal with this situation?
