Duck with black spots on bill

I adopted a duck today and she has black spots on her bill. She seems happy and alert, otherwise. The spots dont wash off, so it isnt just dirt. Anyone know what it could be? I will try to post a pic

So just the other day I came in and saw blood spatter and blood on his feathers and this time both top and underside have scrapes and are bleeding (which is worse that the photos from last year), I cleaned him up and it looked like it has stopped bleeding but the underside when I pat it there's still pink on the tissue, now he seems to be barely eating which I'm sure it's tender on the lower beak. Should I find some supplement to put in his water or is there such a thing

Yes, there are supplements you can use.

You could make something like a smoothie out of his food and perhaps a little fresh greens, you could add Poultry Nutri Drench to the water, or poultry vitamins.

It could just be the coloring of her bill.

Yes. Sometimes, too, they will get little bruises that look like blood blisters. But they go away too. But, as noted, not all bills are solid colored.

What about green on the bill ?? I've searched and searched online looking for something. I see pics of other ducks with green blotchy looking bills, but nothing saying it's a disease or fungal infection.

One of my runners has the green. At first I thought it was algae, till I tried to clean it off. It doesn't scrape off with your fingernail either and the duck was quite put out that I tried to look on the inside...lol.

Other than that appears healthy and normal.

Well, in yellow billed duck breeds, there can be a tinge of green to them called "mossy". It's a mark down for showing. So I think within a breed, you can certainly have variation even within a purebreed.

my runners all have some black green spotting on their bills...I think she is fine......

Hi my ducks peak is almost black. She also has swollen bottom

I massaged her bottom very soft good poos eating well one as active as the others. Do they go broody like chickens thanks
