The other day I noticed my Pekin duck was limping. I caught her and the bottom of one foot was hot. It had a big swollen lump in the middle. I thought it might be bumble foot, but I wasn't sure. I decided to take her to the vet. Good thing I did because it turns out she has a bone infection and a broken middle toe.
Anyone have experience with a bone infection in ducks? The vet said it's hard to treat. She's taking an antibiotic twice a day and metacam for pain/swelling once a day. She's limping around my yard. I will be so sad if she dies! Our pair of pekins are beloved back yard pets.
