Once they were finished the border patrol, Thornclaw stretched "How about we hunt for awhile? I'm starved!"Honeypaw nodded.
"Okay!" She said brightly, setting off towards the EagleClan border at a steady trot. She was nervous, but more excited at the chance to show off what she had learned with Sunfur to Hawkfeather. On her way, her sharp ears detected a small rustle in the leaves under a willow tree. She dropped down into the hunters crouch, moving much smoother and more naturally with all the practice she had had. Tracking the mouse by sound rather then sight, she kept her pawsteps light and smooth, gliding over the forest floor until the final leap. Her claws pinned the small brown creature to the ground and finished it off with a sharp bite to the neck before it could squeal.
Once they were finished the border patrol, Thornclaw stretched "How about we hunt for awhile? I'm starved!"
He glanced back and, with a flick of his tail, helped her lower her own tail. "Good." he said quietly. "Try to get as close as possible, trying not to make a sound. Once you're close enough, pounce."
Fawnpaw went to the medicine cats den. "BlackThunder?" she called
Snowpaw burried her prey with the mouse and headed to the EagleClan border. She paused right on the line, and peered curiously into EagleClan territory before following the borderline until she reached one of the many streams crossing her territory. She crouched amoung the reeds at the bank, scenting a water vole scuffling amoung the rocks lining the shore. The vole was faily close already and she hardly had to stalk it at all before the final leap. Her claws headed straight for the vole, but when they landed on the rock her weight dislodged it and caused it to fall sideways into the river. Snowpaw give a sharp cry of alarm as the vole tore itself free of her claws and she tumbled down the slope into the river. The water was relativly shallow, only deep enough that she had to swim in the very centre. Coughing, she staggered back up onto the bank and shook out her fur onto the sand. With a quick glance around, she looked to see if anyone had been watching, her pelt prickling with embarasment.Hawkfeather's tail swished slightly in satisfaction as she saw her apprentice make a kill. Snowpaw had learned well.
