Hi everyone!!! My name is Megan. I’m new to backyard chicken raising. I come from a line of backyard farm lovers and spent my childhood tending to my grandmas flock. If only she were here to help me now. My family and I have taken a firm dive in and purchased 8 chicks and are rolling the dice hoping we get mostly pullets as we are not zoned for Roos/Cockerels despite my desperate love to have one! I’m including some photos of the girls im hoping to have some input on. I’ll add the others but I’m sure it’s too soon to tell.

First is out Brahma Maeve: AFEBFDC8-4098-4530-874A-7B79292366E9.jpeg C10E165C-EEFD-4545-A79B-9F5120CAC03D.jpeg DDA99B5C-725E-471C-9641-72F5E626A82F.jpeg 3D904467-2489-41FF-9ACE-F460D5F78F0B.jpeg 91F0082E-157A-41E2-81B0-DA806AE15A6C.jpeg

Welcome to BYC!!! :D
You'll need to wait another couple of weeks atleast before we will be able to make accurate guesses on their sexes. I know it's hard to wait though hehe :)
They are all super cute and will make a very gorgeous flock indeed!

Too young - are they the same age - if so looks like some are banties and some are large fowl. One of your dark ones clearly has pasty butt in the photo - need to take care of that. 4ith photo before the last.

Thank you! We have one Bantam. The rest are standard. And 3 of them are ahead of the rest by a couple weeks. Which are the larger I shared.

Yes we took care of that stinky booty that day. She thank goodness has not had it since.

Many warm welcomes to BYC, Megan!!! :welcome SO glad you decided to join the community! :D

Agreed, it'll take a little more time before we can be sure. :) They're all precious, and I'm absolutely in love with the names you picked out. :love

Thank you so very much! It’s so nerve wrecking waiting. Trying to not get too attached to the one(s) that will have to go. I am so smitten with them.
