I like Ideal too even though I've never gotten EE's from them I have gotten other breed. We only had one chick that ended up dying. (that was a tiny silkie)

I am hoping for the best of both worlds EE - a feather footed, calico, colored egg layer that can be sexed fairly young. Just for fun!!
I guess we all have our own opinions. But that doesn't sound like ideal :/Everything that I've ever gotten from Ideal has up and died on me. The EE's I got from them had mostly yellow legs. Yellow legs don't look so good on an EE.
Yes for EE . Single comb so probably not carrying the blue egg gene .
