EEs and ameraucanas what's the difference

The Easter Egger may or may not ever get accepted in the standard because of it's similarities to the Americauna. If you look at the beginning of the standard you can see what's accepted and what's not and why.
Easter Eggers are basically the same as an Americana and I see very vague difference. I would go Americana if their more present in your area.

I am deciding what chickens to get and looked at both these breeds and couldn't tell the difference. Does anyone know the difference?
Ameraucanas are a true breed, which lay only blue eggs. EEs are hybrids produced by crossing either Ameraucanas or Araucanas with other breeds to produce offspring that lay eggs in other colors besides just blue. There is a good article explaining the difference between Araucanas, Ameraucanas, and Easter Eggers at http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2011/09/ameraucana-easter-egger-or-araucana.html.
