eggs dying day 12

i am unsure if on of my eggs is dead; there does not appear to be a blood ring but rather "clumps" or pools of blood (?) or just dark patches towards the center of the egg. the chick looked pretty still yesterday when i candled and the veining is not as clear as it was. I also identified a second dead egg tonight because of a blood ring and this chick was very active just yesterday. I'm not sure what i am doing wrong? I havent been turning them as much because they are vertical but i didnt think that would just kill off two of my chicks in a day. please offer some advice!!

What incubator are you using?
Why are they vertical?
What's the temp?
Humidity?
Are these shipped eggs?

i think my lack of turning may have led to poor ventilation. thanks for this; will try to improve and save the remaining eggs.
