Emergency!! 3 day old chick no vent hole

My 3 day old chick has gone limp and is chirping loudly. Checked for pastypbutt and I see no opening in the vent just skin. Should i try to create can opening HELP!!

I wouldn’t try to perform a surgery like that without knowing what’s going on inside. If this chick has no vent, odds are it has other genetic abnormalities and should be culled humanely.

Can you take any pictures? It may not be quite as you say.

I agree with TattooedChicks, and especially that it may not be quite as it appears. It seems more likely that there's some other problem that has caused swelling in such a way that the vent hole had disappeared. Or some other explanation for not being able to find it.

Sadly the chick had just passed. It was on its last breath so I attempted to make an opening and was able to get a good amount of waste out of it but it was too late. I think it may have worked if I had noticed this sooner but the chick seemed to be active before I went to work today.
