I wondered if it was possible to lay an egg with no yolk too. A few of my infertile eggs look as if there is nothing in there but egg white. Weird.

Hi. I have a chook that is laying empty eggs. Thought it was a normal egg until i picked it up & felt how light it was.
The 1st one was about 6 weeks ago then about a week later 1 more. Now i have had 1 a day for 5 days.
Have no idea what's going on.
What do you mean when you say "empty". Just a shell? Chickens will and do from time to time lay what is called a "fart" egg or a "fairy" egg. It is an abnormally small egg with no yolk in it. Abnormal eggs are more common in pullets that are just starting to lay and their systems haven't "balanced themselves or regulated themselves out.Hi. I have a chook that is laying empty eggs.
