Here is our suburban coop. I LOVED looking at all the coops! It is so cool that everyone has their own personality when it comes to coops. And yet we all agree on our love for chickens. How much fun!

I don't who "the people in the know are" but we planned our roosts per information we found in all the books we read. 4 months in and our flock (Barnevelders, Buff Orpingtons, Wyandottes and Silkies) all love their roost (18 birds on roughly 16 linear feet of roost and there is still plenty of room between the different flocks). Their toes seem to keep plenty warm since the coop is insulated.
