What does this look like? Husband said the bad eye was found all bloody. I pulled a fat white mushy booger type thing out of its eye today. Smelled terrible. The other eye which looks alright pushed out a contact lens looking thing.

Yea...it looks infected. Left untreated she might lose that eye and go blind. I would go to the vet and pick up some eye ointment or drops. The eye ointment costed me $10 total. One of my chickens last summer got an eye infection. The vet thought in her case she got it from all the dang flies we had that summer. You may have to separate her from the other chickens for a while if they are pecking at her eye until it heals.

More yellow mush tonight..I think its lower eye lid has been slit.

No I have not. I was thinking about calling tomorrow. I was trying to avoid the vet even though they aren't too expensive where I live.

Flush the eye with saline. I had a rooster with a similar problem. I actually flushed with witch hazel then coated it with triple antibiotic cream a couple times a day. Healed nicely.

So I got abx eye ointment but she passed yesterday afternoon. I think she starved to death. She wasnt really eating.
