Eyebrows? o.O

I thought turkeys were supposed to loose all the feathers on their heads, not grow new ones...

Here's a close-up I took while she was sleeping:



At first I worried it was mites or fleas, but all the pictures I can find of sticktight fleas online show them as actually looking like bugs--glossy, beady little things. As you can see, the black specks are tiny and fine, just like the yellow down that is remnants of her poult-fluff. Do sticktight fleas start out super super tiny, like, a bazillion of them coating a little down feather so it looks completely black? Anyone have any ideas?

Looks like it's gonna be a female, the girls will have feathers all the way to the top of their heads, while the boys have featherless heads that fluctuate between blue, red and white when the turkey is excited

Yay!! I was hoping she was female =DD
